After my fifth year of teaching 8th grade math, I’m transferring schools and I’m going to be teaching 6th and 7th graders. I’m excited for the change in content/curriculum, and I’m hoping the switch will provide me an opportunity to innovate and revisit some of the things I’ve done in the past and consider how to do them better in the future.

I’ve been trying to blog for years about my teaching, but I can’t seem to commit to doing it regularly. During the school year, when everything interesting is happening, I’m often so busy teaching I have no spare time to write about it! I find myself only able to do it when I have the time, energy, and interest in writing something – three conditions which don’t always seem to happen simultaneously. However, I finally just got myself on twitter in summer of 2016, solely to read math teachers’ blogs, so hopefully, being connected to a community of other math teachers will inspire me. Check me out at @MrKitMath on twitter.
